Window / Lock / Mirror Control Module
This customer's original design called for the use of Paint-and-Laser Etching technology to accomplish back lit buttons. Thermotech suggested the use of two-shot molded buttons instead of Paint-and-Laser Etch along with the use of manual assembly at our Mexico facility as an alternative for significant cost savings to the customer.
The assembly is complex with 15 individual components, three of which are purchased from outside vendors. There are seven different models of the completed assembly. In order to minimize assembly errors, Thermotech recommended several Poke Yoke design features. In addition, we installed 3 vision inspection stations for component detection and dimensional measurement on the assembly line.
