Motor Brush Card / Connector

Our customer originally brought this program to us because of our expertise in insert molding. They were looking for a way to integrate the connector, which connects the motor to the car's electrical system, into the motor brush card. By our engineers working closely with the customer's design team, we identified the opportunity to integrate additional functionality into one product. Not only could we include the connector with the brush card, through 2-shot molding we could add the seal as well. With creative design and the bundling of multiple technologies, we were able to combine three parts into one. The integral seal not only eliminated the need for the addition of a secondary seal, it also provided a side benefit of noise dampening, by isolating the motor from the housing.
